Dec 2020. This was my 10th year of building Fleece O Matics, and orders are gaining momentum ( 110+ machines are running in 5 different countries). I have shipped Fleece-O-Matics to Great Britain, Australia, Canada, and Nova Scotia. The design was influenced by the need to ship cost effectively around the world.
I also developed the Bean Machine and Bit-O-Fluff simultaneously and the popularity for these tools are also requiring my efforts. So, For those who plan on buying this Spring, please get your orders in as early as possible, so that I can schedule your tumbler as efficiently as possible. Important News: A recent industry study was conducted thru a collaboration of 3 different entitys a Fiber Mill, a Retail Store, and a testing laboratory with the goal of finding out what happens to Fleece micron during the fiber milling process!!!
Fleece samples were collected from several stages of the milling process with particular focus on the dehairing machine. Hundreds of histograms were recorded from samples taken before & after different stages of processing. Dehairing machine samples taken from of the "removed hairy fleece" contained much of the Very fine fleece that we Don't want removed!!!...... Results indicated that dehairing can actually INCREASE the overall microns of the final product !!!!! Infact, performing double dehairing exaggerated the negative results.
The researchers concluded that "TUMBLING" the fleece in their
Fleece-O-Matic was more effective at lowering the microns and improving uniformity, than their expensive dehairing machine . Tumbling significantly removes the thicker primaries WITHOUT removing the fine fleece too!........

- The Fleece O Matic was Engineered with a focus on QUALITY craftsmanship and "no fiber-snagging" design. Why does the Fleece O Matic not snag fiber like some other tumblers? We custom order 1/8" diameter wire mesh , which is VERY thick for wire mesh. Since the wire is thick, fiber will not wrap around the chicken wire like some other tumblers Ive seen. The wire is coated with a thick layer of PVC. This heavy guage wire resists any type of collapsing of wire basket.
-No frame, means NO suicide support bar under the spinning fiber cage. This feature always scared the heck out of me and would not pass any State Safety Inspection. A child or pet can be severely injured with those types of tumbler designs. Think Safety !
-The Fleece-O-Matic put SAFETY First: NO wires, NO belts, No Pulleys exposed tooperator. You will need toget a screwdriver and remove 10 screws to get inside the danger zone.
- As users keep pointing out to me, this is the most Quiet tumbler they have ever used, other than our new Bit-O-Fluff tumbler design.
-Hang it on ANY wall. That's right,Folks , the wall is our friend and support frame. Our Gorilla bracket attached to your wall can hold up to 350 lbs, and the Fleece-O-Matic weighs just over 100 lbs.
-Our fiber basket size 36" x 24", an excellent size for one alpaca blanket of 3-5lbs. However, we can produce a variety of custom basket sizes to fit on this machine.
- We designed this tumbler to rotate either direction. Some say it cleans better when changing directions, but a more practical advantage is you can aim your dust to blow one of two directions.
- I'm now offering a timer switch to allow you to set it up to an hour, then leave, and comeback when you get around to it.
